Mistakes your spellcheck won’t save you from
Too many writers think they’re invincible when it comes to spelling words correctly because of the tools they have on their word processors to save them from mistakes.
Unfortunately, there are a number of words that you can still spell incorrectly without your spell checker helpfully underlining them in that squiggly red line.
For the savvy and switched on writers amongst you, you’ll have recognised that I have used some of these words already in this very post. For instance, ‘invincible’ not to be confused with ‘invisible’ and ‘their’ not to be confused with ‘there’. Either way, you see what I mean.
There’s no substitute for reading through what you’ve written to fish out the mistakes. Don’t rely on your computer to make sure your writing is credible. Not only will you erase mistakes with manual editing, but you can make it flow better and pick better phrases to improve every sentence.
Bottom line, whenever your writing is important to you, read through it yourself to get the best results.
